Mom Guilt...
After having children all mother's know that every day no longer belongs to them. It solely belongs to your child or children. We devote all of our time to making sure they know you love them more than life itself - No.Matter.What.
I'm going to get really honest right now. I never understood the "self care" theory. Don't get me wrong it's not that I don't belive in it, but when in God's green earth do people find the time!? Plus, for me the line between selfishness and self-care is a fine one that I apparently need to learn to navigate. Also, can someone please explain to me how to turn the mom guilt off!? Yes, mom Guilt. It's a thing. It's that pervasive feeling of not doing things right, not doing enough as a parent, or making decisions that may "mess up" your children. Someday's it's crippling.
I am not a perfect mother, but I don't think I was meant to be. Part of my job is to show my children that they don't have to be perfect either. They just need to keep striving to be the best version of themselves that they can be and at the end of the day...so do I. And to know that is enough.
